I began my career in the mental health field in 2004. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient, outpatient and residential facilities. My career path has allowed me to serve a wide population of individuals including children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. As a result of my extensive work with people, I have come to appreciate the value of meaningful relationships. More specifically, the value of a positive and genuine relationship between client and therapist and how this relationship is fundamental to change.
My approach to therapy is one that incorporates humor, empathy, honesty and flexibility. Your time is valuable and I aim to make each session productive and in-line with your overall goals. I strive to meet every person where they are in the process of change and utilize a variety of techniques to tailor my work to the needs of each individual. Some of my clinical focuses include anxiety and depression, navigating difficult life transitions, challenges in pregnancy and the post partum period and much more. For those who are interested, I also provide a faith-base approach to treatment.
While I have training in many different therapeutic techniques, I hold a certification in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of Perinatal Mood Disorders.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends. I am an avid reader and walker and have many nieces and nephews that add boatloads of fun and excitement to my life! My faith also weaves its way into every aspect of my life and is the foundation upon which I start each day.
